 FRIDAY 21ST OCTOBER 2011, 7.45pm

The KOSMOS ENSEMBLE include the second performance of the SIX SUFFOLK DANCES, first heard at the Denston Festival in May, in their programme for the SITTINGBOURNE MUSIC SOCIETY at Sittingbourne Community College, Swanstreee Avenue, Sittingbourne, Kent, ME10 4NL. As well as Andrew's piece they will be playing Schubert's Trio D471, works by Bach and Bartok and of course a selection of their wonderful improvisations based on music from all over the world.

STEFAN WARZYCKI, long famed for his expressive and insightful interpretations of the vituoso repertoire, returned to the Edinburgh Festival with works by Bach, Chopin, Saint-Saens, Strauss and Godowski and premieres the SONATINA FOR THE LEFT HAND by Andrew Wilson at St Andrew's and St George's West, George Street, Edinburgh EH2 2PA. The internationally renowned London Recorder Quartet i Flautisti feature Andrew's "Piper's Calendar" in their programme for the CAMBRIDGE SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL on Saturday 6th August 2011 at St Vigor's Church, Fulbourn, Cambridge CB21 5BN. the concert starts at 3.30pm and tickets (10 and 5) can be booked by ringing the box office on 01223 300085 or following this link to ADC Ticketing.

May 2011

Saturday May 28th witnessed the KOSMOS ENSEMBLE'S triumphant first performance of the"Six Suffolk Dances" at the Denston Festival concert. The audience were enchanted by the piece for violin, viola and cello which weaves in six popular dances from this beautiful English county: The Nutting Girl, The Suffolk Miracle, Bungay Roger, Woodland Flowers, The Dennington Bell and the Owls' Green Polka. The new work complemented the world tour that the Kosmos made in the rest of their programme from Klesma right through to Indian Ragas

First Performance of the Tavistock Festival commission: the cantata, "Belinda's Magic Clock" for massed choirs, soloists and piano duet. This allegorical tale follows the adventures of Belinda,  who is given a magic clock made of cheese for her birthday! Pictured here are Mark Perry (Marmaduke the Magician, tenor) Andrew M.
