Pictured below. is soprano Kate Walker with the composer, at the first performance of "Three Browne Songs" Opus 111, which opened the first event of the prestigous Dartmoor Literary Festival in Tavistock Town Hall. For these songs Andrew returned to the poetry of the Jacobean pastoral poet William Browne c.1590-c.1645 who was born in Tavistock. He also provided the text for "The Faery Feast" Opus 12 (1998) and it is highly appropriate that settings of his poetry should be chosen to open the festival. The three poignant miniatures are: "The Rose", "Sing Soft" and "Adoration" and they were warmly received by the large, distinguished audience.
